Ive always wanted to pull my truck, but id get in the stock class with a bunch of strokes and ******'s and id get embarrased

I entered the Buck in PA several years back with my 88 F250. Ask Agnem about it. First time pulling, had the wrong gear and didn't get off the clutch fast enough. Needless to say I got 110 feet or so before the clutch decided no more power was going to the tranny! Had more smoke in the cab than out the stacks! Once it cooled off, that clutch lasted me another 20 or 30,000 miles!
Here's the funny part....Mel was video taping the event and sent me a copy of the tape.......he had "Caution Inhalation Hazard!" stickers all over the tape because of my clutch smoke!
I would love to enter again but I think I'll just watch for now!

I wish you good luck without 4x4. I go to a lot of truck pulls and if someone forgets to put there truck in 4wd or they pop a front U-joint they don't get very far and by very far I mean like not even to 75 foot. I did see an old IDI truck pull in the work stock diesel truck class at a fair last year and he pulled 289ft, right with most of the trucks, I think the truck that won was well away from work stock because it was trailered in and looked like a pro-stock pulling tractor going down the track and it pulled 305ft. The IDI was a F350dually flat bed 4x4 and seemed to have plenty of power, if I remember right it was a 93 model.

Yup I remember that. That was a good time, but I did feel sorry for you with that clutch deal. I would have liked to have seen what you could have done if you got the power to the wheels.

how does a good take off go? do you stay in the same gear?

If it's a 4x4 and a manual then you stick the transfer case in Low Range and then put the tranny in either 2nd or 3rd depending on how much power you have and take off with it, there isnt really a good way to shift a manual with that much of a load on it. If you have an automatic it will shift if the transmission is up to it though.

no they are going to make a class for it i know the guys that run it so i am going to pull it in its own class. your truck will make it no pro even if it is a little heavy they will let you run.
