How hard is it these days to buy a unit like that and horse trade the C6 adapter for a 4x4 adapter? Are there still enough of them out there?

You looking for some more gear Rob?

Not for the Ranger, it's sitting pretty 1800 turns @70mph in 5th. But these always catch my eye for the future family car build. I don't know what it'll be yet, but a bull nose idi bronco with a c6 always sounds like a great choice.

C6 is okay. Definitely tough but I've honestly wondered a lot about something Allison automatic. Surely there is something in the right SAE bolt pattern.

Just be a matter of figuring out the flex plate and converter. Then you could have lockup and overdrive.

Honestly, I'm not sure why no one figured out the lockup converter. Seems like an electrical lockup clutch wouldn't be all that crazy. It wouldn't have OD but you'd have a bullet proof core.

Yeah that would be sweet forsure. In addition to the stuff you mention, I wonder if a c6+married transfer case+gv in a lifted bronco would cause driveline angle issues.

I think you would be way too long. Bronco is shorter than a short bed reg cab and those lifted have steep angles.

^^^ i bet yes. Double cardam and rear spring perch work should help.
There were clutch converters way back.
Th400 and c-6 not withstanding.
Now find the tech?
