Recently my fuel filter light pulses on idle, not all the time tho. I have a bran new fuel filter installed. Is this a warning that my lift pump is on it way out?

It sure is. Next it may start surging at high RPM. The IP may be strong enough sustain running for a long time this way but only at a risk of damage. The good news is the lift pump is only a $50 part. Having made that mistake once (
), if it were me and I knew the lift pump was very old (mine died after 140k) I would just replace it. If you want to have more information on your pump performance, you can monitor fuel pressure before and after your filter. BUT after I learned how the filter light works (which is by sensing vacuum) that is equivalent to telling you that you are lacking pressure after the filter. If you are sure your filter is clean, I would blame the lift pump. Hope this helps you avoid the trouble that I dad diagnosing this.
