Front Receiver for 1991 F250

I'm looking for a front-mount receiver hitch for my 1991 F250. I've searched the Reese and Curt sites and none of their items say that they're compatible with a 1991. Does anyone have a front mount receiver which is commercially made who can give me a part number for me to follow-up on?

Also curious... For an '86 here though. Would be useful for both getting trailers in tight places and a solid front extraction point.

I know my brother in law has one on the front of his 1990 F-250. I need to pick it up later this week to change the brake cables. I will take a look and see if I can find a brand name or part number on it if no one else gets back to you by then.

Great, thank you. In my search, I see that Warn makes one but at almost $300, it's not worth the investment.

not many companies make them. and most are junk anyway. no real strength to them. best bet is to build a sub structure behind your bumper and put a hitch on that. even more if you are planning on using it as an extraction point....

I built one for my truck. (89 F350). I had an old hitch from a van I think. Removed the front bumper, cut each side of the square tubing (of the hitch) so it fit between the frame rails. Welded a flat plate on each side, then used grade 8 bolts to attach. The square receiver aligned perfectly with the front license plate. So I cut a square hole in the front bumper (which is located in the license plate area). It worked out nice because now the hole can be covered with a plate (mine says PSE) when not in use. I use mine for a quick winch mount.

Well I was able to get a look at the hitch on my sisters truck and it is home made as well. I took some pics in case they could help if you decide to make your own. It must be pretty stout as well, since my brother in law used it to move my flatbed which weighs 3k empty but also had 3 cords of wood on it at the time.

That's awesome. Thanks everyone. It sounds like homemade is the way to go with this one. It won't be for any heavy hauling, just casual use when moving trailers and dollies. It's always easier for me to move them around looking at them in front of me than from behind me.
