Keep in mind that parts you buy from Uhaul may have been sitting on a warehouse shelf for the past 20 years, and if they fail, you have no warranty recourse. I bought serp belts that didn't last 3 months, The first serp belt did a fair amount of damage to other systems and left me stranded in a very nasty part of town. I kept checking the next belt and noticed it was disintegrating around week 8. I tossed the NOS radiator hoses I bought from UHaul.
I've have good & bad buys from UHaul. Errors in their descriptions, like a photo of a case of oil filters, but the text didn't say the auction was for only single filter. I paid WAY over retail price for that filter.
They apparently have mechanics from various places doing the packaging. I bought a bunch of air filters, all individually boxed. They wouldn't fit in the larger shipping box, so the ape discarded the individual boxes, and crammed them into the shipping box. He used enough compressive force to rip the wire mesh apart and crush the filters. I bought a couple of new brake assemblies, and they arrived looking like they had been dragged behind a truck, with a couple of pieces of cardboard taped to them. I bought several sets of new glowplugs, and they arrived loose in a box with other heavy items. Some of the plugs were bent, so they all hit the trash can.
You CAN get some good deals, just be prepared to argue, cause most of their stuff is "no return", and I'd avoid anything with rubber in it.
Hadn't been to the U-Haul store yet. LOTS of stuff I coulda saved money on.
