My question is there a way to get free power out of a 12 valve 96' cummins by maybe doing a little tweaking on it. I heard something on adjusting the smoke screw. And where is it located? I did install a #10 fuel plate which gave it a significant amount of power. And Im wondering if there are wastegate adjustments I can do to up the power. I also have a 4 inch exhaust and a k@n, what do you guys think about the k@n. Thanks for the past cold starting replies

yes you can adjust the AFC screw but it won't add power it will just allow it to start fueling before the boost come up (enough air).

When you installed your #10 plate, did you
also add the boost elbow it came with?
That will take care of any wastegate adj.

Do you have gages? If not how can you know what you're doing to the truck?

I had a K&N in my '00 and it was decent, but you should consider swapping out to a BHAF for more flow. You also definately need to put in a boost and pyro gage as well as a trannie temp if it's a auto.
