I bought a school bus with a Ford model 170 Inline 6 Cly diesel, it has a Bosh inline type fuel injection pump. This thing is a dog, trying to pull a hill or a tall bridge is a task onloaded. Can this pump be turned up without bringing it to a pump shop, if so how. Also what is the max no load RPM?

What year and what horsepower is your bus. I am pretty sure your engine is a b frame cummins. The Engine info plate is on the front left corner on the gear housing.I was assigned a differant bus this year. It is a 1995 Ford B(I think this used to be called an F-600) series 23500 GVW long wheel base with a 190 horse b frame Cummins with Bosh fuel system. It runs 9R22.5 rubber 4 speed Allison hydro parking brake. My route is 140 miles a day of dirt and gravel so I always get the biggest dog in the fleet. It seems to pull good at 45mph, at least compared to a 366 gasser or a 6.2 . It will run 70 down the hyway but slows up on hills
