I've got a 7.8 in an f700 that smokes REALLY BAD fuel type smoke until it gets hot. I am wondering if its a timing problem. Something else thats happened is the gasket on the fuel filter has blown out twice, and it's a little leaky again so i'm wondering if it would be some kind of fuel pressure regulator. Doesn't burn any oil of use water. Any help is appreciated. Thanks John

how's the blowby? if the blowby is ok then it's time to check the pump timing if not time to replace the pump itself.

No blowby hardly at all. Hows the timing set or those do you rotate the pump. On our simliar ford tractors you set the timing by rotating the gear, but they're a little different.

When you say fuel smoke do you mean that nice white to grey diesely smeling smoke or black? Chances are that it may just be worn out. The ISC is not all its crackd up to be (go ahead, I have my teflon suit on). As fof the fuel filter I have no clue. I will ask a few people though. Let me know what kind of smoke.
