Exhaust leak?

94 7.3 factory turbo. When in overdrive sounds like a terrible exhaust leak above 2000 rpm. If I'm in neutral and rev it to 2000 rpm I never hear it. Could this possibly be something else? I have replaced the pump and injectors. Also I have an oil leak that will not go away. 2 rear mains and an intake manifold gasket and still leaks.

Use a flashlight and look over all the connections for soot, if you have a leak it should show it

Stick a leaf blower in the exhaust.

Does that work? I know it'll make plenty of air, but how would you hear the hiss from the leak over the racket the leaf-blower makes?

Yup. Just make sure to seal the blower to the exhaust. (And secure it in place)

What about possibly blowing soot and crap in the exhaust into the motor where some of the valves would be open

If you have anything like that in the exhaust in the first place, you have bigger worries......
