Exhaust flap

so a odd question, but what is the purpose of the flap in the turbos that came of a 97 psd? is it control the boost somehow or is it just stricktly a warm up valve? i know it could be wired in as an exhaust break using the stock pedistal but im not usin that in my application. just wondering what the heck that flap is good for..

That's all it is.has no other function except turn it into an exhaust brake.you can remove it if you wish.its good for a 50 degree drop on exhaust temps
