Hey, any of you IDI guys have pics of a 6.9 or 7.3 in various states of dissassembly? I'm looking for some pics of the head/injector region. A nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated...:thanks:

I'll post some when I get home, I got tons of photo's of The Enterprise's internals... I even got some close ups somewhere (I don't think I deleted them) of the heads way back when I put my extra set of heads up for sale (like 4 years ago).

Say, Justin, you wouldn't be trying to sneak a REAL diesel engine in that bowtie of yours, are you?;) ;) :D Noticed there isn't much action in the 6.5 forum. Thought I'd give you a little good-natured IDI ribbing.:) Are you working on a 7.3 project? If so we'd love to hear about it.:cool

Acctually I was thinking about crosbreeding some parts. Like 7.3 pistons and injectors in a 6.5 block and heads. Your guys' injectors are longer than the 6.5's and the 7.3 pistons have a shorter compression height. In theory a nearly direct injected 6.5/7.3 could be born. I was trying to get some pics to see how everyting goes together in a Ford so I could ponder putting stuff in my Chevy...

I'm not sure of that yet, haven't got that far in my search for specs. I do know that the piston pin in a regular 6.9/7.3 is .1104 smaller than a 6.2/6.5. The factory turbo models are bigger however, not sure how much yet. If anyone has any specs. for internals that would be great as well. Rod journal diameter, rod lenght, physical injector dimensions, and fuel rate are a few that I need to know...
