I am doing a custom gauge cluster on my 88' F350 Cummins swap and need to know the purpose of the ELU/IMS Module mounted on the back of the cluster?

I am doing a custom gauge cluster on my 88' F350 Cummins swap and need to know the purpose of the ELU/IMS Module mounted on the back of the cluster?

Inferred Mileage Sensor (IMS) / Extended Useful Life Module. You must have a gas truck with califonia emissions. It changed something to make up for wear and tear as well as set off a light for emissions service every 60,0000miles.

Don’t need it. Dump it.
