The life of an Indian is like the wings of the air
Actually it was/is. I'm not armchair talking here, I've owned both so speaking with experience. The E4 was an abject failure and never should have been released in anything let alone a heavy duty truck. Mat's own experiences are evidence of this as well, if an E4 should last anyone it should be him, he's devoted so much of his life to learning about it and coddling it. But even with all the **** polishing they've failed him like they fail everyone.
Really? There are none left on the road today? That's news to many.

my name isn't Matt.
(however i take no offense)
your talking about a 20 year old trans pre-updated with a 190k miles on it with a complete unknown to me history that im simply trying to limp along for a while since it "should" have been just a few hundred bucks to keep going.it was a solid plan since the trans still operates flawlessly.
just like someones failure trying to keep a c6 going with a new converter in hope it lasts a while.if that fails it wouldn't mean the c6 as a trans is junk.is just means that one has payed it's dues.
a many c6 have failed before 20 years and 200k miles too.they weren't "that" good.they all ware out.
iv got a updated E40D in chip truck which runs reliably solid that id drive anywhere and work daily without concern.
