Been away from this board for a while. Too damn many (non-Ford) project vehicles....

So, yeah, E4OD does intermittent slips in 3rd and 4th, higher RPMs. Not raising revs enough to say it's an attempted downshift, and not enough to feel the power back off from forward speed.

Pulls fluid from the bottom of a B&M deep sump, with fluid on the stick, so it shouldn't be sucking dry. I have a Baldwin bypass filter on the cooler return line. And, oh, yeah, only about 15K since rebuild. Conveniently, that local shop has closed up.

Before taking it to a different shop, thought I'd check in with you knowledgeable folks. Transmission internals are WAY beyond my skill set. :dunno

Bump. Did some online research; some guys had this unlocking behavior with a bad FIPL/TPS. Bad spots on the potentiometer tell the computer to unlock,as if accelerator were pressed to kickdown.

Out came the old one (genuine Ford, installed by trans shop about 10K ago!). New (aftermarket) one in, problem appears to be solved.
