Well, I'm supposed to get my transmission back this week. I'll have it back in and road test next weekend. The following Saturday, I'm going to pull the travel trailer around Ft Wayne as there's no way I'm going to road test it to Chattanooga with my family on board.

If everything goes well next week we'll take it to the rally, if not, we'll be in the Excursion (which Amy would prefer). Wish me luck.

You kow Hoppy makes a real neat taillight converter that is plug and play you just need to run a hot wire from the bat. Works better than the mod and is cleaner and all solid state.

My neighbor was joking (at least I think he was) that I definitely need to keep it. That way if I ever need a project, all I have to do is take it for a spin, something will break, and then I'll have something to do.

That's the case with both of my vehicles at the moment. At least, the projects on the Benz don't preclude driving it (at least not yet...if it gets to that point, I'm going to have problems!!)

heh, funny.. My advice... just drive it off...

So far i've cured two or three major problems that way. I had a leaky oil cooler at the block, so i tightend it some, it leaked more, i tightend it a little more, it leaked a little slower. Drove it for a week or two and didn't think about it, now no more leak..

My drivers window quit working so i bought all the parts for it and left them in the van. It didn't work for about 3 or 4 months, then one day, it worked some, then another day it worked a little more, and now it works perfectly. I roll it down and up every day. So I'm thinking about returning those parts i bought.

Also, one day it sounded like my steering column bearings were going out, would sqeak a whole lot when i would turn the wheel, then one day it just stopped.

Oh yeah, had a real bad powersteering leak. It just stopped one day too, it has started back up though, it's really really slow leak now.

So as you can see... there is more than one way to fix a problem :Sly

I'm hoping my valve covers will fix themselves too, but i've been waiting quite a while for that to happen and hasn't happend yet

Today I replaced the extension housing on the E4OD to cure that leak (bought a housing so I could plug and play), replaced the trans pan w/ the 4R100 pan, filter and gasket (+1 1/2 qts and a drain plug ),replaced the speed / RABS sensor, pulled all 8 injectors, replaced w/ stage 1 (found my miss #6 and #8 were flat out gross )new returns, new fuel filter. Then the rain started again.

To Do List:
Replace the trans cooler lines
Install 2nd B&M plate cooler
Install remote trans filter
Install AM/FM/CD player
Install front and rear speakers
Build a center console
Oil and filter change
Coolant filter change
Heater core bypass mod
Get w/ Apextrans and get my running boards matching

My barn and yard look like an assembly plant right now.
I am still a cab short of floor pans.
The Beef has been pretty cranky the last few days as she spit out her fuel line from the transfer switch to the filter......Don't run very good.
That was a $3.00 D2 bath repair.

Good luck with the PRTJ's may they be easy and repairable.
