My cousin was just given a Doug Nash overdrive unit he is planning on putting it in his 1978 f350 with a 460 and a 4 speed manual trany. So I don't know if I should be asking questions in this forum but every one here seems to have a wealth of information.

He has the adapter that will fit his trany and the unit that's it. The only thing I see on the case is DNE2 and a patten number 72 80015

1 How do you wire one of these
2 What can he do for the speedometer cable
3 dose anyone have an owners manual for on of these

or if any one has any information of any kind about one of these units let me know.

Thanks for the help everyone
JOHN

US Gears took over the Doug Nash DNE2 Overdrives and sold them as the "US Gears Dual Range"

The number you provided is the part number for the STD. TAIL HOUSING ASSEMBLY.

I compiled a document with all the information I have, but it won't let me attach the file (794KB) which is over the 244.1KB limit, maybe someone can change that.

I tried to send you a PM with my E-mail address, but your PM's are turned off. If you'd like, I can host the file on my webspace if you can E-mail the file to me. My E-mail is warden145_removeme_@_removeme_earthlink_removeme_.net (trying to obscure my E-mail to keep the SPAM bots from grabbing a hold of it)...

Not sure where the Thanks button went, but thanks just the same. I've been looking for this information for a while.

i searched for a LONG time trying to figure out how to wire mine up. but basically you use a 2 position switch and connect each side to the terminals on the passenger side of the DN unit (so that one side gets positive power at a time) when you apply power to one side it will shift into OD and the other side will so into UD when you apply power to that side. there are two sensors on the rear of the unit. The two sensors get wired to 2 separate lights to let you know what gear you are in. (connect the + from the light to an ignition source and then the - from the light goes to the wire coming off the sensor. Once the unit is in UD or OD if will light up on of the lights to let you know what gear you are in.

I fully note that the site has undergone a complete makeover. Mine is not the reason why, but to ***** and cry. I miss the old setup, I liked it.

All that said, WHERE THE HELL DID THE THANK YOU BUTTON GO????

Now that I have vented. THANKS Warden for posting the entire DN tech manual. I just printed it for my hard copy file. I have one that's been setting un used for about 3 years because I couldn't find information of this level to let me use/install/ and teardown/inspect the thing. ;Sweet

Thanks again... what a great group !!

btw, what's all the links to twitter, and the other stuff I don't use or recognize in your sig block? How does all that work?
Do any of them fancy damn social media things burn diesel? ;Really
