i know this is kinda a silly question but im gonna ask just to make sure.
im thinkin about getting a cat delete pipe for my 07' 5.9L
anyone had this on a 4.5 or newer 5.9?
pros? (i expect/want better mpg)
cons? (dont really expect any but id like to make sure)
i dont have to worry about emissions;Sweet
will it open it up enough to give me a nice sound out the pipe?
the 06' delete pipe will fit my 07' right? :dunno
all the 07' pipes im findin are for the 6.7L

im also afraid of my wmo/#2 blend clogging my cat-so the cat has got to go

thanx

I have never deleted an emissions device ever ........however I saw a guy do it once to an 04.5, he deleted the cat and then got a different muffler to eliminate the 50 gallon drum **** thats under there....................the truck sounded great and the milage went up .5-1:thumbsup:

alright cranknrods, here is my take on it :cool

the cat isnt really the restrictive part of the exhaust systems on the '06 and '07 5.9's. The muffler is! Lots of guys on the big dodge diesel forums have done numerous experiments with exhaust mods, and supposedly the muffler is the piece that will yield the most performance gain by swapping it out. From what i've heard, the cat is just a hollow perforated tube you can stick your whole arm through. The '06's and up have the newer, wider style of exhaust system and isnt nearly as restrictive as previous years.

BTW, been running WMO and *** (atf) for thousands of miles through my 2007 5.9 with stock cat, havent noticed any difference whatsoever.

just my 2 cents;Really
