Cruise control and hydroboost conversion

Okay guys, question. I put the pedal box and stuff in and ran into a little problem. My vacuum dump is no Bueno. The little plastic do-dad doesn't line up with the hose.

The cruise was gutted on this thing when I got it. Can someone please educate me on all the cruise parts and how they go together? I don't even know if I've got all the parts.

On that bracket you have to modify it so it hits the vacuum dump. With the hydroost pedal moving the pin location it doesn't line up anymore I cut the hole off so I could get it in the correct location and then glued it on using weather strip adhesive.

Vacuum dump on the pedal has a vacuum line that runs to the cruise servo. Cruise servo pulls from the coffee can and then from there to vacuum distribution block.

Cruise switches in wheel. Cruise amplifier under dash - maybe beside column. Wiring to the cruise servo. And wiring down to the speedo drive with a little adapter that goes into the transferase and has a wire output and speedo cable output.

I think that's all the parts. And I think I have the vacuum routed correctly.

Okay. So is there a switch or is it just the hose that it contacts?

Forgot about the hydroboost, so systems could be different? I'll upload a pic and post it in your build thread tomorrow, although both of my trucks are vacuum boost.

It's just a vacuum hose on the dump. It has a plunger in the middle. The only electrical connection on the brake pedal is the light switch.

The switch on the clutch rod has a cruise kill function also if I remember right. I don't actually have the switch in my 89. So my truck starts in gear and won't kill the cruise if using clutch.

The switch on the clutch rod indeed kills the cruise. Guess I shouldn't be calling the part I'm talking about a "switch", it's more of a valve. Never dissected one, but I would guess it has a seal or plunger in it. The "valve" that I have has a plastic dowel that is spring loaded and drops the dowel when that plastic wedge is removed from the bottom of it by depressing the pedal.

Okay. I'm missing the dump valve. I'll have to find one. That makes sense.

This one claims to be for an 87-91 f-series but it's electrical. Looks like it would fit in that spot.

Not a vacuum dump. Is there another switch besides the stoplight switch?

The one Crash-harris posted is correct. Not sure what the one Laser found is for? Not seen it before. Maybe 92 UP? They don't have a vacuum cruise control.

There is a vacuum dump switch that lil piece is supposed to hit afainst....no pics fight now but maybe another member can chime in. It is essentially a plunger switch to dump vacuum.

I've seen a few threads on converting to electrical but Geeze I didnt want this to be a project. Guess I could put an electrical switch there and a solenoid valve somewhere to dump the vacuum.
