I have to say, the coolant was flowing before and after the high idle kicked off, so it wasn't cold.... just wasn't up to temp.
I have a new radiator, upper and lower hoses, and thermostat to put in. Should I just do that (since I have the stuff and was planning anyway) and see if that takes care of the problem?
I would agree with the others on isolate your current issue first and resolve, but I did exactly what you have parts for (radiator, thermostat, hoses, heater hoses). I flushed my system with distilled water several times (I believe I used 16 gallons total of distilled water in the drain/flush method). ( drain radiator/fill with distilled water, run it til hot(drive), repeat after cooled down). I did it till I was running just distilled water then did my parts replacements and filled with SCA anitfreeze.
