Coolant Filter

I just changed the coolant filter on my 6 liter Powerstrokeu and it looked like the Sahara Desert. Has anyone ever put one on a 7.3 IDI. I would do it in a minute if anyone has pics.

Its been done. I wonder if you could plum in a inline fuel filter to work? I saw one that took 1\2 hoses at the store once

My 6.0 ses a Donaldson spin on filter just like an oil filter

Could a guy put a filter head and a ph8a oil filter on it?

why would you want to use a PH8A oil filter when for the same price you can use a spin on coolant filter

the heater core lines are 5/8.

It looks like yours is inline with he heater and not setup as a bypass line is that correct. It would make it a much easier setup rather than a bypass.

right.the heater core line is a bypass of the cooling system.it's sole purpose is to provide you with heat in the cab.when a filter starts to get dirty,the flow will decrease and the heater wont work as well.a great indicator as to when to filter needs to be changed.

Yeah, FORDF250HDXLT. Yours is the first time I've seen the filter plumbed in "series" with the heater core, not "parallel," as in the tech article.

I have the NAPA head and Penray Need-Release filter (compatible with FleetCharge SCA coolant) standing by, but other issues (including where to install, with my extra-tight engine compartment) have this project back-burner.
