I have a 1999 Ford F-350 crew cab dually. I installed the edge power programmer and put it on setting #1. It runs great with that setting but now its making more power than my clutch can take. The clutch was replaced before I bought the truck. What clutch would be the best upgrade for this truck? I don't want to spend 800 dollars on a south bend clutch though. Somewhere in the middle would be great.

Setting 1 shouldn't be slipping the clutch.
Sounds like the problem is somewhere else. Well I mean the clutch, but maybe it was really changed, or maybe you have a oil or fuel leak in the valley, that's dripping down on the clutch.

It only slips when at 2000 rpm when the boost starts coming in. The edge says the boost is around 13 psi. If I am towing my 5th wheel it definitely slips coming up a slow grade trying to accelerate above 55. So far all the clutches I can see that can take more than 450 lb feet of torque is about 650 to 850 dollars.

Its not the programmer per se....the engine is making noticeably more power thats why it is slipping. I think since the dealer just "said" the clutch was replaced...they didnt say WHEN it was replaced. My thought is that the clutch is just weak.

That's what I'm saying.
Of course the programmer is just making the situation more pronounced.
You could just replace the disc itself, which would save some money.
