Every so often my truck will not crank when I turn the key. I hear a solenoid noise like the starter relay from somewhere under the dash or in the engine bay, but it does not turn over. I usually press the clutch pedal in/out again, try again, and it will then crank up. Starter is new.
Is this my clutch pedal switch out of adjustment? Or the relay going bad. I know the clutch switch is a common problem. The only reason I am even asking before going in there to adjust or bypass it, is the solenoid click. I'm not sure where the clutch switch interrupts the start circuit. 10 minutes looking through a service manual did not answer that question.
