I was looking for some Auto-Rx because I've seen it recommended on this forum before. I wasn't able to find it at Kragen's so I wound up just getting sea foam. I ended up taking the fuel filter off, draining it, and putting an entire can in there, and then another can in the crankcase. I ran the truck around the block to get the fuel circulating through and then shut it off. How long can I run the truck with the seafoam in it? I heard that it thins the oil, so I don't want to mess anything up.

The truck has a lot of blowby and I'm hoping this will unstick rings or take care of whatever is causing it. The motor only has 123k miles on it so I am either thinking stuck rings or turbo seals. Also, the fuel system has some wierd stuff in it that I was hoping could be identified..

Is this the factory fuel filter? It appears to be fed from a gasoline type fuel pump from the block, and has a pressure line going to the Injection Pump and another line going the injector rails, I'm assuming a return line?

Then I have this:

Can someone tell me what this is hanging off of the master cylinder? It looks like it has fuel going through it.

Then there is this:

Is this a water separator? If it is, it is disconnected... what should I use to replace it? It is jammed behind the cruise control module

Finally, a shot of my engine compartment:

Just thought yoou'd like to see some mid 80's awesomeness...

The pics don't seem to be working, so here is the link to my flickr folder...

Auto Rx can only be ordered from http://auto-rx.com/index.html It is not available in any stores and it has to be ordered online. Look on the seafoam can, it should tell you how many miles you can run it in your crankcase before changing the oil and filter.

The first picture is your water separator and yes, it looks to be disconnected. You need to have some type of water separator on there, although I'm not real fond of the firewall mounted ones, they tend to have issues after they are opened to drain.
