Hi all,

I have pretty much struck out on the cheap engine search so I am now looking at getting a short block and refurbishing/reusing the rest from the old engine. The dealership has the 7.3L N/A short block for $2500. Does anyone have a better price on this? The main thing is that they are in town and there would be no shipping (tax is 10% though!). Any thoughts welcome. Oh, and my block is shot which is why I need one.

where are you at?
a few years back I had the "opportunity" to dissect a dealer rebuilt longblock. What I found wasn't pretty. I didn't know beltsanders was a approved way of gasket surface prep:eek: I've sold quite a few dealer longblocks before that finding and haven't since.
I'm looking at a wreck this week that took a hard shot in the left front. There's no way to tell if the motor got hurt or not....but there's only one way to tell. it's sawzall time on the sheetmetal:D
