broken pump shaft

I went to work this morning and dropped off my work truck. Fired up my idi, and drove it home, i pulled up to my shed and popped the hood to degrease it, and make it pretty, and the POS shut off, i tried to restart it and it would not hit a lick. Was getting fuel to ip but no fuel to injectors, i popped off the side cover and looked in there with a mirror while jumping the solenoid ,and the shaft wasn't spinning inside ,but my pump gear was so i pulled it off and stuck an old pump on it and it runs like **** now!!!!!!!!now i wanna go i think i'm gonna set it on fire i am so mad!!

Friday the 13th was a great day for me but saturday the 14th is really sucking!!!

sorry to hear that. look at the good side at least it made it home first. my kind did the the same thing the other day. what to see some family about 1500 round trip did not have not go wrong. get home go to started the next day noting injector pump said good bye

Did you spray anything on the IP while degreasing things? If so, you probably hit the warm to hot IP with cool water/degreaser and it snapped the shaft. The new(er) IP probably just needs to be timed.

I was opening my shed door, before i even popped my hood or sprayed anything on it , it shut off, and the pump i put on it came off of another truck we have here, and it ran like crap on it too . I think it is just wore out

Timing is everything.

I know the timing is a night and day difference type of deal,hopefully my new pump will be in tomorrow and i can get it put in after our florida idi rally, then maybe i can get dieseljd to time it for me.
