Well guys, I've been thinking about my turbo set up and now I'm starting to wonder if a cowl induction hood might not solve some problems for me. Granted, I haven't measured anything yet but I think to get the GT3788 in there and not modify the intake, I'm going to have to do something clever with the up-pipe. If verticle is the only problem, then it's a pretty easy fix but, I'm not sure how much hood clearance I will have so I started poking around looking at for a cowl hood. The only thing I can find is this.

I can't find anything else for a brick nose. Anybody else seen anything like this in their travels?

I could.... Might look like crap...but I could. I'm not a body metal guy...yet. [emoji6]

Besides, I like a chevy II with a small cowl hood on it.

its not as hard as you may think.
the hardest part is restraining yourself so you dont warp it,
20 bucks says you can do it with guidence, that i will gladly give!

I'm sure I can, but I didn't need the hood to be a project. Right now I'm really kicking myself for not having my hood in hand already. Seems like most places that don't rake you over the coals are sold out again. Already. [emoji35]

I'm not aware of anyone else that makes a cowl hood for the brick. Only think I dont' like about fiberglass hoods would be sometimes you have to get rid of the hood springs and go to a strut rod. Not a huge deal, but bugs me.

What about buying a bolt on cowl hood hood scoop. Plenty of places sell them. If you did a bolt on it would look like a seperate piece, but wouldn't need all sorts of fabrication to fit it on.

I completely understand you saying you didn't want to make the hood into a project.

It might not be too bad for a steel hood other than the shipping might get excessive. I'll store that away. You were talking about s steel hood right?
