What he said but I would do it this way and this is the way I adjust the brakes on my truck.
Jack the ass end up and put jack stands under the axle. Remove the wheels. Remove the drums. Inspect the brakes to see if it needs new shoes, has any wheel cylinder leaks and or any axle seal leaks. If any parts need replacing fix those first. Then after repairing anything that might need to be replaced take the drums and slide them on half way. Adjust the brake shoes until they are just making contact with the drum. Slide the drums the rest of the way on and reinstall the wheels. Tighten the lug nuts to the required torque and then lower the truck to the ground. With the truck running step on the brake pedal a few times and if you have a higher pedal take the truck for a test drive.
i would add,,while its still up on the stands,,i would take a brake "spoon", and adjust the brakes up even more,,till theres some drag on the brakes..not hard,some...the minor dag,,will be off shortly!! that should give you grand brakes......if not,,youve got mc problems,,or booster problems....and while you had the drums off,,hope you checked all the adjusters and cables well.......
master cylinder is brand new and no air in the lines. is it time for hydroboost or is there something i can do to fix this? thanks!
