Sounds like a good idea just for the knowing what you have. It can be used as a baseline for later tests too. Are you taking this rig on vacation or another rig.

No Gary, we took the Amtrak up the coast from LA to Seattle and back, nice trip but long. Ever tried to sleep on a moving train? Aside of the bumpy ride, I was about ready to tell the engineer where he could shove his airhorn!

I pulled the fuel pump and the gasket was pretty shot. I bought the block off plate and converted to E pump, I used a factory pump for a 6.5 diesel. After the experience I had with the Holley Red, I didnt want to go that route again. I'm still running a Holley on my 86 but dont trust it any further than I can throw it.

A train trip can be a really nice way to travel. Ask Mel and family about that. As for the air horns... Well the engineer is required by law to blow it at every road crossings. They also have a stay awake alarm in the cabs. Its sounds off every 30 seconds when under travel...Wow.. An alarm like that sure could ruin the peace in the cab but its there to keep them awake. Think about it. You have a brake and a throttle.. No steering wheel nor a need for one. What keeps the engineer awake... I guess it can get really boreing driving a train when theres nothing to do like keep a car or truck on the road. Flying a plane is differant. You have auto pilot but when you up there hands on you have a stick so your steering it plus you need to maintain altitude too. Not much to do driving a train compared to other types of driving things. Glad you got the oil leak fixed too. I keep a spare holley red behind my rear seat but with the carrier pump I'm thinking I will never need it.
