Vewy, vewy tempting, albeit expensive. I like the idea of the ~25% fuel economy boost too. I hear Banks is over rated - what are the other options in bolt on turbos that are 100% analog - that is no circuitry?

I want to keep this truck as stupid simple as possible. Also interested in turbos that would become a pipe if they die is there such a thing? I just remember seeing all the early Saabs dead on the side of the autobahn in the early 80's when the turbos in them were failing left and right.

I believe all turbo kits for IDI's are mechanical. ATS, Hypermax, and Banks are your options, with the latter one going away soon.

Yeah new sidewinders cease production this month. They are a lot of money, but without a doubt the most complete new kit. I have heard a lot of good stuff about Hypermax however and I love my old ATS turbo. At least check into the Hypermax and ATS. You'll find they are much, much more competitively priced. Also check with Huff. He's a dealer for Banks and Hypermax...a good guy to deal with.
