Back on the road

Well I bought the truck back in December for $2100, ended up having a broken ring in it, I didn't know it at first but I went and picked up a 7.3 for $400 and I got it all in and today we did the final touches on it and took it for a good ride today. I have a lot more power now since I am running on all 8 cylinders. I added 2 things of Auto RX to the mix just to clean things up. The motor has new gaskets all around. The front seal looks like its got a little leak but hopefully the RX will take care of it.

I put on the old water pump but ended up changing it today due to it leaking out the weep hole. My radiator is filled with Fleet Charge which is SCA precharged and mixed with distilled water. Now my cooling system is up to par.

I have to say all in all I'm pretty satisfied so far... The turbo sounds real good through the exhaust, and the only smoke is black only when you stomp on it.

Now its time to shine it up.

This summer plans are to shine it up, replace the chrome at the bottom of the truck, fix my dually fender, and clean up the interior real good...

Glad its up and running. These trucks and motors are really underrated by most people. They take plenty of work and continue to move the freight...

Very good to hear. Just get some Fleetguard test strips and check the DCA level every time you change the oil. Add when needed. That should keep your 7.3 cavitation free.
