Just noticed I past 17,000 posts. I really enjoy helping here on this site and would not trade this for any other forum. Thanks for asking the questions I can contribute to . I'm thinking only blindness or death or the closeing of this site will stop my posting. Life is never a sure thing either. We play the had we get but usually hope for a better one knowing full well many are in a worse place than us. Anyone read the post in the lounge about towing a dually crewcab. Trying to load that rig and destroying the dually bed like that is crimminal in my feelings. Those guys are not worthy of a Darwin Award but they are close..

Well most of my day is spent gardening for the wifey. I think thats my new cross to bare cause she knows I hate digging weeds and doing her gardening jobs. My truck sits there neglected wanting me to touch her . I can almost hear the crying when I walk by her sometimes...

No horse transports recently? With such a nice truck, I'm surprised you haven't thrown some paint on 're and found some towing contracts.

And you wonder why she has you out gardening and building raised beds? That's called retribution.:backoff

I heard she went out of town briefly looking for a small plot of land, an acre or two, so she could increase her garden, turn you into a gentleman farmer.

He how far up them pistons supposed to stick up above deck too...DOH! forgot to ask for that I suppose DOH! Face palm..

For some reason, the intake WON'T sit down enough to bolt in place. Guy was told 0.005" taken off heads, however we don't know if there was previous cuts on those heads, also we don't know if the block is decked or not either.

Now with this info, we can begin backwards work to decipher *** is going on cause 0.005" should not hurt how intake sits...

Max factory piston above the deck is 31 thousands but.. I ran my first rebuild around 52 or 54 thous above. I DO NOT RECOMMENDENT THIS TO ANYONE. Every valve touched the pistons. No bent valves either and the touching was so slight it was not able to be measured. So it was way less than 1 thousands but any touch is too much. What keeps the valves from touching the pistons is the thickness of the head gaskets. So far nobody has determined if the valves chase the pistons or the pistons are chasing the valves. Thats something We need to know too.
