I have a 1990 F-250 w/7.3 IDI. I recently acquired a Leece-Neville 165 amp internally regulated alternator from a 91 F-350 Ambulance. I'd like to install it in place of my existing 100 amp externally regulated Ford alternator. Does anyone know how I would wire this up.

I think there is reference to it on my manuals. I’ll look soon.
But meantime I want to talk you out of it. Those old Leece units were rugged but not very efficient. They don’t charge well at low rpms. The 3G alternator from a Taurus is readily available inexpensive and out charges the old Leece.
