So is there anyway to find where the leak is other than just replacing a bunch of pices in the fuel system. Like finding a vaccum leak on a gas motor? I know i got an air leak since ive changed my lift pump. It starts like a champ then after about 15 seconds it will die then i have to resart it; then it runs great again. I guess i need a cap and return kit but i wanna make sure that is the problem mine "looks" fairly new.

Obviously you have some filter drain back. Technically, the return lines are in vacuum when shut down, so there can be no drain back. The slightest leak however, changes all that. An air leak prior to the filter head would most likely go un-noticed, as any drain back would allow the filter to remain full, so I doubt your lift pump is at fault.

Ok my problem is from the Filter head to the ip correct? There is no leakage fron any of the return lines. No fuel on the ground or anything else from what i can see.
