As noted, the cans often have dye. If not, if you add a quarter ounce of florescent dye you may find the current or next leak with a UV light. If the system is already discharged you can just pour it in. If the system is charged you need a device to force it in. The system needs to be charged and run to distribute it.
Look for the leak at night or in a dark garage. And while you at at it look around the engine compartment. Many things fluoresce in different colors. The dye is typically yellow, the grease I used on all the AC fittings looks purple.
