This project has become a project.
I will not get into long details of my doings,

I did notice when I pulled bed off, what seems to be an excessive amount of rust on the frame.
No undercoating? This has been a western truck for it's life.
When I pulled the bed, I power washed the frame, applied Phospho, (rust converter) and painted it rattle-can Rust-O-Leum flat black.

Looks better than it did. So far.

Lot of surface rust with some scales thrown n for good measure. Most of this truck was spent in Cali, then in Washington and now in Oregon. Road salt is not an issue on this end. The front axle is getting replaced sometime in the future when I do the 4X4 conversion. I believe I now have all the parts to do it, I just need the time and maybe some help. That will get the front frame cleaned up leaving just the section under the cab.
That will probably get a shot of Rust-O-Leum paint and call it good.
I still need to find a PTO for the E4OD and Muncie is selling one for about $830 Then comes the rest of the fun.
Tanks, hoses, find a winch and get it mounted. The fun never ends. . . .
