93 7.3 idi e40d code 99

My trans is still acting up a little bit now it quick shifts from first to second with OD light blinking after second light goes out and shifts normal. I can feel TC lockup and drives great until when stopped it quick shifts again and light blinks. I pulled codes and am getting a code 99 (electronic control switch) if anyone can shine some light on the situation it would be much appreciated lol.

sounds like possible chaffed wires at the bulkhead connector.that or just corrosion or dirty plug.have a look here:

EPC solenoid is failing.

The solenoid EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) has problems, probably need a new Solenoid pack.

Oh crap speeder,sorry to butt in, must have been typing when you answered. Sorry.

Edit: He could check the harness connection, oil, corrosion not pushed in tight, bare burn't wires and so on.

yeah iv gotten code 99 myself,back with chip trucks original solenoid pack.the pins were so corrosive down inside i had to just change the pack.id clean and run fine for a month or so,but 99,62 and a combo of others just kept coming back.sitting for 15 years didn't do her any favors.
