Om my friends swamp buggy, we just make one out of thick square tubing and then put in a 2" square tube for the reciver. put in some gussets and bolted to the frame.
The make front hitches for some trucks I dont know about our old ones though. Measure the frame width and look online to see if any will fit with minor modification.
Yeps, they make hitches for our trucks, I remember seeing them for both 2wd and 4x4 models. Methinks it was Reese whose catalog I was going through when I found them...
I called up Reese and they guy said that if its not in the computer then he doesnt know anything about it. Sounds like a custom job to me. Then I will sell the patent off to Reese or some place.
I've got a front hitch on my 1989 F350 2wd. I thought it looked like a retail piece, so I'll see if I can find a manufacturer stamped on it. Once you get your hitch, get one of these steps to allow better access to the engine compartment (can also be used to step onto rear tailgate)...
I just bought a 2" receiver tube and welded it to the bottom of my winch bumper Plenty sturdy. I mostly put it on there so I could hookup flat trailers and use my winch to drag vehicles and what not up onto them.
