How many engine to chassis and body grounds are there on a 87-91 Bricknose IDI truck? Did a Cummins swap from the IDI...thinking I missed a couple. Have a few accessories pulsing/causing phantom issues.

Even though its a Fummins, this is hands down the best source out there for 87-91 trucks :-D Don't hang me!

Thanks guys

Both batteries ground to the engine.
One ground from engine to frame
ground from head to wiper motor bolt
two harness grounds on the radiator support between batteries and headlights
ground on passenger fender by starter solenoid - could be wrong on this.
ground strap from frame to body mount.
ground hookup at frame where tail light wiring transitions to the bed.

I think I got them all, but am working from memory.

From the battery to the engine is the main ground, because of the Alternator and glow plugs, that shoud be a #2 AWG. Then a ground from battery to front clip #6 AWG, both of those are usually part of the battery cable. Then a ground from fender to chassis cab pass side, also a good thing is a ground from Alt to fender by starter relay #6 AWG, I would put a ground wire from Cab to frame #6 AWG. that should take care all that's needed. As long as you haven't touched the dash, those should be there or you could go from dash to chassis inside Cab.

I'm thinking I'm lacking a good ground from the engine to the cab/firewall. Appreciate the quick replies and information.

FWIW, i like to run 1-0 gauge grounds,
from engine to frame, from frame to body and from body to engine...
its overkill, but youll never have a ground issue!

That's a good go Brian. Poor ground from battery to engine, I think is why so many have glow plug problems.
