I inherited this truck when my dad passed about a year and a half ago. Ive used it a couple times and hauled pretty good loads in the bed with it . its a strong engine. its a perkins 6 cylinder tractor engine. i believe its the 6.354 but i could be wrong. im not sure on the mileage because the odometer doesnt go high enough. its a good work/hauling truck with a lot of torque. its a manual transmission. I was told it had custom gears in it . i have a scrapbook of the engine swap process. it has a sony deck and a 6 cd changer. Any questions ? email me
make me an offer!

Nice conversion! I wonder what kind of HP you can get out of a Perkins.

That is real cool. I heard rumors that a few 70's fords received Perkins treatments, from the factory possibly? I have not been able to find any information to substantiate those claims.:dunno Do you have any specs on that particular engine of yours or the other parts that made it happen? Your price sure isn't anything to complain about, especially for clean west coast sheetmetal.-Drool Best of luck with it, would be nice to see a member buy it.;Sweet

A while ago about 20 min away from me there was a 78 Dodge 3/4 ton ext. cab with a Perkens straight 6 in it, was a cool truck. Had been sitting for a couple years and asking 3500$ for it. It sold in a short period of time though?

The d50s were mistubishis. But the powerwagons were Perkins. Some had turbos and some didn't.
