I'm in the middle of replacing the return lines on my 7.3L IDI. I ordered the kit from Mel. The kit has some copper washers in it. They look like they would be used as a gasket to seal something in a compression fitting (I've made break parts for a living before). Problem is that when I pulled the lines off my truck, I don't see where these are used at. Can any one tell me where they go, or are they extra? After double checking the tech articles, it looks like this washer goes on the bottom of the injector. Is this true? If so, since I'm only doing the return lines, I don't need the washers right?

Thanks!

Nope, washers are go on the end of the injectors to seal compression/combustion gas from escaping the cylinder. If you didn't remove the injectors, you don't need them.

Yup, I had that problem when I did my return lines too. Had a friend come over to check my work and he let me know what they were for.
