7.3 PSD Help

I am currently looking at a 2002 F-550 CC with a 7.3 PSD and Auto tranny, my question is when i testdrove the truck i warmed it up and put it through its paces. i stomped on and once i heard the turbo spool up the truck lost power and the check engine light came on, ad once i let off on it the truck acted normal again, what caused this?

Sounds like an over boost condition to me, the ecm would cut the fuel back in that scenario thus cutting back the power....Possible high intake manifold air temp too can do the same thing.

If you really wanna know get it hooked up to a scanner and post the code here. That will tell a much better story.

thanks for the help guys!, the truck is at the local ford dealer in my town, a little more info is it has 202K on it, starts like a champ when dead cold. trans shifts perfect. the only thing the dealer told me they done to it was put like 4 new injectors in it. and the price for the truck is 9200 dollars, is that a good deal?
