6.9 upgrades?

I have a 6.9 diesel Im looking to rebuild from the ground up. Then surface and port the heads with arp studs, then install a banks sidwinder kit. What else could I do to boost the power in this old trusty?

its here he isnt a busness he is just a normal guy that likes to keep are trucks runing. to get a hold of him just pm him and make suree that your pm box is turned on. you could also get a type4 cam just pm type4

Careful about surfacing heads. Only do it if necessary (warped). There is no combustion chamber like gassers have, but you need to keep track of the valve projection. The valves stick out from the gasket surface. If you do not do a valve job at the same time, they may hit the pistons. It has happened.

Also check for cracks in the heads. The 6.9 heads were prone to cracks between intake and exhaust seats. Have the machine shop magnaflux the heads before going too far into the project.
