The blocks were changed about half way through the 85 model year. I think you can tell by looking at the block around the heater too as they made it thicker and it looks different in some way from the early models.
Justin, when you tear your motor down, the easiest way to tell if yours is an a or not will be by looking at the oil squirters. The earlier style squirters are pressed in, while the B blocks are bolted in.
Would my block have less of a chance of cracking the temps are only like 60 right now?
I just dont understand because when running, the block heats up to the same temp as the block heater right?
