its a wvo pump. It would be pretty simple to hook up the batteries in series but with pos going to neg, I believe some sparks would fly. Is there a circuit on the truck that is 24 v?

Anything is possible.

You can wire the two batteries in series to get 24v. You could only use one battery for starting and would need to have two alternators to charge both batteries (or a 24 volt alternator).

JC Whitney sells a parallel / series starter solenoid, you may want to study that circuit and see if you can make something that would work in reverse.

And since you can use one of those solenoids, apparently starters will survive 24 volts (as 6 volt starters did when people converted then to 12 volts). So you could wire the starter for 24v and run the rest of the truck electrics off of one battery. Again you would be back to needing 2 alternators or a 24v alternator.

Maybe find a 12v pump??

I'd say just get two batteries wire them in series, I wouldn't want to mess with the already questionable electronics of these trucks.
