guess one more build thread wont hurt lol

ive been buying several parts for this rig, now that my 87 is almost complete.

what i have:

a 2002 F350 4WD DRW truck, minus engine and trans.(vin has a scrap title only, cannot repair)
a 2001 F250 4WD SRW, 4" lift with a blown headgasket. and a rebuilt 4R100
a 97 7.3 PSD long block to build.
a 2002 F250 short bed
and a new set of DRW fenders that should arrive today.

the plan is to swap the 01 body on the 02 frame.
cut the back window panel off and weld the extra crew cab section of the 02 onto the 01.
extend the frame a bit, and run a short box DRW.

build the 97 7.3 w/ ceramic coated slugs
stud the heads
run a set of baby swamps
a GTP 38R
all on stock programming
no chip, no tuner.

after i get her together, shes going to a buddy for an air brush paint job.
most likely something aquatic, or that reflects the delta life i enjoy.

send her to another buddy to clear coat.

install my front and rear bumpers i have.

and hopefully have a rig that i can tow, and take on long trips with my kids that will last me 2 decades.
this is my last major diesel project! (maybe LOL)

ill get some pics today after parts come in....

the reason for posting the build thread early is that i found a set of rims on fleabay that i may be picking up.

700 ish bucks for 4 rims for the DRW set up.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-16-FORD-F...ash=item46475addfc:g:n5QAAOSwwE5WYGhc&vxp=mtr

or these

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281936603314?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

the offset says that the fronts are 102mm
the rear are a 125 mm
i thought all the offsets were supposed to be the same.
are both rims on the rear a 102mm offset?

if i decide to buy this set, should i run a rear steel inner rim?
or should i get new inner rims?
i already have rear inner steelies,
but i dont know much about them, or if they will even fit.

whatcha think?

Aren't you going to be a busy lad. I'm not sure on the particulars of the dually rims but the larger offset may be to accommodate wider tires. On the older trucks, I believe (Don't quote me here) you had to run a thin spacer on the inside of the dually stack (even with a dually axle) to run the large offset rims to run 235's and not have them touch either the springs or each other. Offset keeps them apart, spacer keeps them off the springs. I have no idea on a SD what the spacing requirement is but the dually rims will be metric for it and standard for the older stuff if they follow the SRW trend.

Should change your handle to 6door. :rotflmao

You'll need to run tuning for those injectors if you run the SD computer. SD runs split shots.
But you have the computer sent in and just has it flashed.

the pattern is 8 on 170mm so yea its a metric bolt pattern.
id like to find the guy that designed the wheel arrangement on the SD line and make his neck smile, ear to ear.. and those 7 lug rims... just 'tarded.

as for the 6 door handle, LOL but i think the misspelled idiot suites me better hahahah

Are you planning on running the 4R100?
In my uneducated opinion I would be looking at a ZF6.

correct, ill have the stealership flash it. not many people that i know of that can do it.
im not tryin to be the fastest on the road, just a solid rig for my light duty towing (12k)

Dealer can't do that kind of reflash. Best thing to do is talk to your injector builder.
