Not really a screen that I know of, just a check valve type thing.
It's in the fittings where the lines enter the heads.
You can get "high flow" ones from RiffRaff.
They advertise them as for the 99-03.
I know our trucks have the fitting back there. I just don't know if ours have the check valve or not.

Be sure to ohm the harnesses.
Could just be a bad injector.

You could swap that injector to a different hole and see if the fault follows.

I have splices in the wiring harness above the drivers side valve cover. Is that something I can buy new or will I have to make one/repair?

Im not making any boost until 2500 rpms and then the max I have seen is 10 psi both loaded and unloaded. Is this normal?

Pull the valve covers today and the number 8 cyl has a "LL" injector in the hole. The other 7 look factory, the LL was replaced recently. Unless I'm mistaken, a '96 should have 8 AA's

Is your truck the cali model?
The LL is normal for the newer trucks. Search 7.3 powerstroke cackle.
But I don't think it was used in the older trucks.
