Does anyone know if the transfer case control lever/unit uses same part for a manual or an automatic transmission??

Thanks

Broke two of those POS shifters in 4 hours the other day.
Dumbest design ever. Why change something that worked so well, ie the 87-90 style TC shifter design. Its impossible to break one of those.
