Everything I've been able to find so far is remans. What I got now is just super super rusty and is in real danger of seizing or blowing under pressure and I'd prefer new when I fix it.

Also, not terribly important but are there any good conversion kits for the rear brakes? I know drums are sufficient, but given how rusty things are back there calipers would be immensely less maintenance.

For what it's worth, I've never had a rebuilt caliper fail on me and I've installed hundreds.

Most of the rear brake conversions use the standard chevy calipers. I saw a guy who cut the brackets off a later model axle and reused those. Big job though. And of you find a late 90s ford e350 van, you can swap the entire axle and keep the 8x6.5 bolt pattern.
