The diesel Burb is for sale, now that we have an Excursion.

1991 GMC Suburban 4x4 with 93k original miles.
6.2L diesel engine, is flawless and runs really good and is not turned up.
No leaks, does not burn oil and all the glow plugs work!
Transmission is a SM-465 three speed with creeper gear (4 forward gears).
Great clutch, trans does not grind, shifts smooth.
Transfer case is NP 205 gear to gear case, works great as well.
Front axle is GM 10-bolt 4.10 gears
Rear axle is GM Corporate 14-bolt, 4.10 gears.

The exterior is 2-tone grey/red. The grey is sun-faded, but there isn't any rust anywhere on this truck. The back tailgate is power window equipped and works good. The front and rear bumpers are fabricated, are very solid and equipped with tow hooks/d-rings. Also has reese hitch and trailer brake controller.
Interior is red and very clean. The front seats are grey, from another vehicle, and are captains chairs with an armrest/seat-councel in between. Very comfortable seats, second and third row seats are nice also. The headliner is falling down a bit. I removed it from over top of the front seats, but still covers the rest of the way back. It is equipped with a/c, but not charged. It shows that it has been converted over to use 134-a.
Power locks, manual windows except tailgate. Tilt colum, cd player.

Currently I have 35" Toyo Open country tires on aftermarket rims (as pictured in my avatar), but I am going to put the original wheels back on with the 235/75/r16 all-terrains back on.
I have been daily driving this truck for a while now, and it runs and handles great, and gets about 18mpg. Would do better on fuel if it had stock 3.42 gears and an overdrive transmission.

Oilburner price- $3,800 or best.

email me at [email protected] or call 734-735-0071

Thanks

can the jacked up suspension be unmodified?

It really doesn't have a bunch of lift. There aren't any blocks in the rear, the front has what I believe to be regular arched springs. The front sway bar has quick disconnects in it, but I don't know what brand of suspension it is, or how much over stock it lifts, if any. The front shackles are all greaseable. It does have about 2" of body lift. The previous owner said he had a bunch of money tied up in the suspension, and I believe him.
Just a few weeks ago I was fueling up at the gas station when this guy (who I had never met before) walked up to me and asked me if I bought the truck from so and so. "Yes I did" I told him. He then proceed to tell me how he new the previous owner, and told me he had $3k alone in the suspension, plus all the other work he did to the Burb. The frame is a 4x4 suburban frame, the body and engine was from a 2-wheel drive donor burb.
The axles tran and t-case from another donor as well. All of which were gone thru prior to assymbling the final product you see in the pics. He told me how it had a new clutch and that the axles have new bearing/seals and all that stuff. People can tell you all day long that they have completely gone thru and rebuilt a vehicle and there's nothing at all worn out on it, and you can either believe them or not, sometimes it's hard to tell. When I bought the burb, I felt pretty sure he was telling the truth about all that he had done to it. But when I ran into that guy at the gas station, and he told me pretty much exactly what the previous owner told me, that reinforced what I felt was the truth. By then I had owned the Suburban for a while and this stranger had nothing to gain by feeding me a line of crap.
Back to the suspention though, I would say that removing the 2" of body lift would be the best move if you wanted to bring it down a little. As for the springs, they look pretty good, not obnoxiousely over arched in my opinion.

i have a possible buyer for it about 3 hours away. problem is, she's short. (5ft tall) also, your idea of "rust free" is completely different from mime. how about some pics showing detail under the burb?
thanks;Sweet

Sure thing Calvin. I hope she has a strong left leg, the clutch pedal is a stiff one even though its a hydraulic clutch. My wife is 5'2" and she's able to reach the pedals. I'll pics in just a few.

Some pics from underneath. I actually found one area on the truck that has some rust holes. The rear passenger fenderwell, were the seams meet. After finding that I checked the rest of the inner fenderwells and the rest are clean. Aside from that you'll see some surface stuff like an the frame where the paint has peeled and started some surface rust, but here in Michigan, thats more like brown paint. Trucks from this area will never look like they do in Cali and the southwest. But for a MI vehicle, its super clean.
