Sounds like you spun an oil pump in one

No, just lots of trouble with the shifter getting warn and wearing into the housing so it pops into neutral randomly and when I do get into 4 it pops out a lot

If they are kept full of ATF this won't happen (as long as your p/u hose doesn't come off ).

Mine was full and everything. It just decided it was done that day. Made a bracket to keep it in place and put it back together and all was good. Sold that truck for $2K. 89 F150 SCSB 4x4 302/AOD. Great truck. 170K.

ZF6? In a IDI

How exactly are you going to put a 205 behind a ZF6? The ZF runs a different output shaft than any other Ford trans, you need the NP271F that was mated to it unless you're going divorced and 2wd trans.

Exactly, zf6 from 2WD 99 pad of my dads that I unfortunately rolled a couple years ago. The np205 is a divorced unit out of a 76iirc highboy
